Our Sponsored Child

We, the employees of the TNI Group of Companies, are extremely proud to have founded the TNI Employee Giving Fund. Employees voluntarily give to the fund weekly and make decisions together as to where the funds collected will go. In the past this fund has served to assist local charities such as the Peachland Food Bank at Christmas; assistance that the employees have chosen to continue. Given the difference that TNI is fortunate to be able to make in the lives of children globally through sponsorship programs, we decided that we wanted to also use a portion of our proceeds collected through this fund to do the same. Therefore, in April of 2005, contributing employees began sponsoring Nery Adalberto Gomez of El Salvador through World Vision Canada.

An eight-year-old boy, Nery attends school and helps his family with chores. His father works but doesn’t make enough money to fully support his family. Despite this, Nery’s mother must stay home to help look after their family. With the help of their Community Development Program, Nery and his family will learn new ways to manage their lives. As part of this program, Nery and his family receive clean water, nutritious food, health care, education, and many other opportunities that would otherwise remain unavailable.

In May of 2005, TNI’s President Steve Allison, and Jennifer Ward, Director of Business Development made the trip down to El Salvador with TNI client World Vision. The trip allowed them to actually meet Nery and his family; an opportunity rarely available to child sponsors. Not only did the five day trip prove to be an eye opener, but through their eyes, the rest of us got to see what a difference we are making on a daily basis as the TNI Team. Together with our Agency Owners, managers and reps we are truly making a difference!
