I would like to commend the canvasser that came to my door, Toni Ryder. She was kind, professional and very friendly. Although I did not sign up for another child, as we have one through Plan already and another through a different agency, I appreciated her encouragement to correspond more frequently with the child and to include our children in the communication as well. I believe that people like her are very instrumental in gaining sponsors for the children as this is how we initially began with our first sponsored child. It just so happened that the canvasser came to the door just a few days after I had watched a program on impoverished children on the television and was feeling eager to do something more. If we ever decide to sponsor another child, I will be contacting 'Plan' in order to do so. Thank you, Carolyn.

Hi, my name is Niki and I received a visit from one of your associates earlier today. He was with his partner, Alisa, and shared some information regarding the sponsorship program with Plan Canada. My husband and I are currently sponsoring two children from Bosnia and have been for the past two years and when I informed Ryan of this, he was most supportive. What I greatly appreciated during his visit is his undeniable passion for this program and that he is able to channel that passion in an energetic yet non-aggressive manner. He has spoken eloquently and has a knack for making the person with whom he is communicating feel comfortable; as you know; many door to door visits cannot be described in such a way. I informed Ryan that I am currently on mat leave and cannot sponsor more than I am at this time but am willing to look at your organization and consider it at a later date. He offered the information on what looks like a bookmark along with his cell number and was most considerate. I just wanted to comment on a visit I had from one of your representatives recently. His name is Robert Tobin and he was a very pleasant young man. I have been thinking about sponsoring for quite a while now, so I allowed Robert to come inside and tell me more about the program. He explained everything very well, and didn’t pressure me what so ever. He was very sincere, and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, I didn’t want to make a decision without my husband present. Robert was very understanding of this and put no pressure on me to do something I was against. He gave me the website information and explained that after I go over it with my husband I could process it online. After reviewing it with my husband, we decided we wanted to sponsor, and we picked out a little girl from Zimbabwe! I just wanted to let you know how great of a job he did, and because of him I have made a difference in this world. Hi, I received an interesting visit a couple weeks ago from one of your representative. Danah Arniotis came to my door and talked to me about the nice program you have established. I wanted to say that Danah is an interesting man, very polite, well dressed, good manners...he has a very nice approach and he seems to really care about what he does..he truly believes in what he does. Unfortunately I didn't sign up for it, due to personal problems financially and 2009 is the year where I decided to make huge sacrifice to get me out of it.....it was just bad timing.....but I will contribute eventually. I am just writing to let know about the excellent work being by a couple of your canvassers. Mandi and Renee came by door on behalf of Plan. Generally I send canvassers away. I’d rather choose a charity on my own and donate, instead of being pressured at my door. But these girls were polite, very friendly, and very “matter of fact” about the charity they were representing. Mandi is a truly excellent sales person, and seems to be training Renee to be the same.
