Just a quick e-mail re: Jessica: I was canvassed on behalf of PLAN Canada yesterday in Yellowknife NT. As we are already PLAN participants (and have been for over 30 yrs.), we did not wish to initiate a new sponsorship. Nevertheless, I wanted to comment on Jessica's demeanor. Jessica was polite, professional and a joy to speak with & I wanted this to be known by her supervisors. James.

Hi, I live in the Alta Vista area of Ottawa, and today had the pleasure of discussing the Plan Canada sponsorship programs with a canvasser named Gabriel. Although I am not able to enroll at this time, I was impressed with his friendliness, professionalism, and knowledge. I wanted to pass along my appreciation of his commitment to your program.

Regards,
Peter.

My name is Ms. Weronika I am a bit late with this letter but I am writing you today because I just wanted to share with you my thoughts of certain people that work for you. On June 18, 2011, to my surprise, I opened the door to 2 of your representatives Scott Booth and Jia Yu It was very nice to see Scott once again because he was the one that introduced me to Plan Canada. He helped me through the process and now I am sponsoring a beautiful 4 year old boy named Luis from Bolivia. Scott introduced me to his new co-worker Jia Yu and I just wanted to say that you have 2 wonderful representatives working for you. I am very happy to have had the opportunity to meet these 2 dedicated men.

Thank you for your time.
Ms. Weronika, Roxboro, Quebec.

Manjit Singh and a couple of her trainees stopped by my house this evening during supper. At first I didn't want to answer the door and was a bit annoyed. By the time we finished I gave her a high five and was pumped about sponsoring the Because I Am A Girl project. You're richer for having her on your team.

Best, Tyrn (proud new sponsor)

Hi, I wanted to send you a quick note to let you know what an amazing and dedicated employee you have in Greg Stewart. He came to me house last night, in the pouring rain, and with a smile on his face introduced my kids and I to Plan. We have since signed up to sponsor a girl from the Philippines. I was most impressed with Greg`s enthusiasm for Plan and his willingness to answer all of my girls questions. At no time did he rush our decision or make the repeated questions irritate him. Amazing personable skills!! Please pass along my wonderful experience to all who need to know.

Thank you,
Michelle.

Hi Plan people, I just wanted to thank you for the opportunity to speak with a representative of Plan Canada. I've seen the commercials all my life, and been interested in participating, but this year was the first time I've had a representative come to my door. I used to go door to door myself to raise awareness for Greenpeace in the Maritimes so I know what a challenging job it can be. Unfortunately at the time I wasn't able to commit to participating but have started budgeting so that by year’s ends I can make at least some sort of contribution to one of your worthy projects/campaigns. Moreover, I wanted to commend Brad, who was the young gentleman who came to my door. He was pleasant, informative, and gracious. Having gone door to door for a cause myself I can appreciate that he was visiting in the winter, wasn't put off by our building in Saint John, NB, and gave me time and information about your organization I might never have learned about otherwise. Please keep up the personal appeal campaigns and well done on hiring young and inspiring staff. I look forward to continued interest in and future participation with Plan.

Sincerely,
Gaande.

What can I say about one of your door to door representatives here in Calgary. Her name is Brenda-Lynn. She came to my door tonight and I have had a lot of people come to my door that you could tell were not sincere about what they were selling or whatever cause they were representing, so most of the time I would turn them away. If they were not excited about their cause. How could they possibly expect me to be excited about it? But not Brenda-Lynn. Just by the way she talked and the way she represented herself you could tell she cared about these kids just as much as I did. This girl is amazing, caring and very friendly. We started talking not even about Plan Canada, just really about nothing, but ended up finding out we had something in common. We are both base brats (as Brenda-Lynn called us) and we also found out we were both born in Comox B.C., and both our fathers were in the Canadian Forces. I just want to say you couldn't have anyone better representing your cause. This girl cares and is very good at what she does. You are very lucky to have Brenda-Lynn working for you. She has your back. Thanks to Brenda-Lynn, I am now a proud sponsor of not just one child, but two and I am very excited about it. So thanks again Brenda-Lynn, keep up the outstanding work, and Plan Canada what can I say, you are definitely the right cause for me to help in. If all your employees care as much as Brenda-Lynn, you should do really well getting people to adopt these beautiful children who desperately need our support.

Thanks Again,
Judy.

To whom it may concern,
I am writing to give praise to your canvassing rep Richmond a dynamic man from Ghana. He was clear and engaging while discussing the options at Plan, and understanding of the fact that I was a student. He gave me strong confidence in your program, and this was only furthered when I learned about his history with Plan. His passion and enthusiasm (and generally amazingly friendly personality!) encouraged me to sponsor a child myself.

Having spent time in Ghana, it was so much fun to be able to discuss places we both knew, and it was fantastic to be able to learn I could sponsor a child there. I have great faith in the Plan program, my mum has been sponsoring a child for as long as I can remember (in fact I did my grade 4 speech about Plan, back when it was named Foster Parents Plan!). As I plan on returning to Ghana, I hope to build a connection with my child and eventually meet her!

If all your reps to as great a job as Richmond, it is no wonder that people feel so comfortable and safe choosing to work with Plan!

Enjoy your day,
Emily

Hello, my name is Ms. Weronika and I am writing you today to tell you about your representative Scott. Today on a Friday afternoon, a gentleman came to my door to ask me if I wanted to sponsor a child with Plan. This personable individual explained to me what was entailed to sponsor a child and hopefully it would be for long term for the children are in need of people to help them. I asked Scott many questions and they were answered to my satisfaction. He helped me through the process with ease and I just want to thank you for sending this capable individual to me. My husband and I have been thinking about sponsoring a child for a little while but it must have been destiny for Scott to come into my home today and make it a reality.
Thank you once again.

For TNI reps Brandon and Musa-
I just want to say thank you so much for sending these two wonderful young men to my door! I joined your Facebook after I returned home from a trip to Dominican Republic, while I was there the Earthquake in Haiti occurred and I just felt in my heart I wanted to do something real for people around the world, especially those who are devastated by poverty and natural disasters! These two young men were so positive and so wonderful they set a target for them to achieve in getting the children who they were carrying with them sponsored today! They are a true asset to your cause and I hope that you will allow them to experience some hands on rewards for their efforts of canvassing, they were so excited about the possibility to actually take part in being somewhere they could make a difference possibly helping to provide clean drinking water or whatever their dedication is a true inspiration to our youth and your cause! I am so pleased they went to my door and I am so excited to actually now be able to sponsor your cause monthly and do something! I hope these two boys will be blessed with all the Best that the world and the future can bring them and those they encounter!

God bless them and Thank You for them!
Nancy.

I would like to take the time to tell you about the experience I received from two of your dedicated workers. First let me set the stage? It is cold and has been raining for about an hour. It's now 6:00 p.m. and there's a knock at the door. I open it to find two shivering drenched people in the door way explaining who they are. I could stop there and you would have a sense of the dedication that Laura Lee and Rebecca have. Soaking wet and cold they both had a smile and a kindness about them that was infectious and could brighten up anyone's day. After inviting them in out of the rain they explained what the purpose of their visit was. This explanation did not come in the form of a rehearsed spiel, it came from the heart. The passion in which they talked about the program was a passion that you wished everyone could have. Furthermore, they answered all my questions and put to ease any speculation that one may have from donation programs. If Plan Canada is made up of individuals such as Rebecca and Laura-Lee then there will be no doubt that many children will be saved. I may have done a positive thing for one child, but I assure you that the longer you keep these two individuals involved in Plan Canada the amount of children that can be helped in the future are limitless. As someone who has worked in all levels of management I would strongly urge you to promote these two individuals within Plan Canada or at the very least let them train new and upcoming individuals. I cannot stress again the energy and passion that Laura-Lee and Rebecca had to offer but I can tell you that if it were not for them I would not have signed into this program.

Thank you Rebecca and Laura-Lee! The world needs more people like you in it.

Yours Truly,
Mark.

Paula, who happens to be the Executive VP of Plan Canada, contacted the Feedback line to comment that two representatives did an outstanding job as Plan Canada canvassers when they unknowingly called at her door. She added that they were articulate, polite and gave them “Two thumbs up for their excellent work ethic” and said that “it was a delight to see first-hand what a good job some of the representatives are doing.” She can’t say enough about the great work they did representing the ‘Because I’m a Girl’ program and felt they deserved to be “well celebrated”, both as TNI Employees and Plan Canada representatives.

Hello,
I just enrolled with Plan this evening. I will be sponsoring two children; a girl in the Dominican Republic and a boy in Cambodia. Ever since I have been a little girl I have wanted to help these darling little children but always felt the task was out of my hands. Now that I am older, have a child of my own and am financially stable I knew that the time was right. For months I have been pouring over websites trying to decide which program to enroll with. Tonight my questions were answered. An incredible young man stood on my doorstep advocating for these children with his whole heart. The thing that even allowed me to open my door to him was the professionalism he portrayed. I was stunned by how much this young guy knew about world events, Plan's missions (past and future), and the statistics that just rolled of his tongue. Wow! I was impressed to say the least. I really enjoyed the stories he shared about his experiences with sponsorship. It was so easy to see this man's passion for humanity. As he left I was speechless and had tears in my eyes from the appreciation he shared on his own behalf, the behalf of Plan International Inc. and of course the two darling little lives I've saved because of this man's trek to my doorstep.

To Plan International, there isn't a better individual you could have to spread your word. His name is Matthew.

Sincerely,
Sarah

I am writing in regards to the door to door rep that came to my house this evening. His name was Kevin and I believe he was one of the most social able, charming and nicest salesman type person I've ever had come to my house. He was polite and very informative. He was able to answer all of the questions that my husband and I had as well as explain to my 5 year old son what the plan does in terms that he could understand. Because of the information he gave us and the way in which he gave it I agreed to sponsor a child. I believe that is it had been another salesman comes to my door I wouldn't have become a foster parent. So, I just wanted to let you know what a great job he is doing and how much he seems to believe in what he's doing.

Resident Email:
I would like to commend the canvasser that came to my door, Toni Ryder. She was kind, professional and very friendly. Although I did not sign up for another child, as we have one through Plan already and another through a different agency, I appreciated her encouragement to correspond more frequently with the child and to include our children in the communication as well. I believe that people like her are very instrumental in gaining sponsors for the children as this is how we initially began with our first sponsored child. It just so happened that the canvasser came to the door just a few days after I had watched a program on impoverished children on the television and was feeling eager to do something more. If we ever decide to sponsor another child, I will be contacting 'Plan' in order to do so.

Thank you,
Carolyn.

I just wanted to comment on a visit I had from one of your representatives recently. His name is Robert and he was a very pleasant young man. I have been thinking about sponsoring for quite a while now, so I allowed Robert to come inside and tell me more about the program. He explained everything very well, and didn’t pressure me what so ever. He was very sincere, and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, I didn’t want to make a decision without my husband present. Robert was very understanding of this and put no pressure on me to do something I was against. He gave me the website information and explained that after I go over it with my husband I could process it online. After reviewing it with my husband, we decided we wanted to sponsor, and we picked out a little girl from Zimbabwe! I just wanted to let you know how great of a job he did, and because of him I have made a difference in this world. It was a pleasurable experience dealing with him, and if you could let him know I appreciate it that would be wonderful!

Sincerely,
Melanie

Adam, a new sponsor, contacted the Feedback line due to the fantastic work of Gab. Adam felt Gab was personable, knowledgeable and very approachable. He said 'Kudos to him and Kudos to Plan Canada for the good work they do'. He is looking forward to his welcome package arriving in 2-4 weeks and is very happy to be a new sponsor with Plan Canada.

I wanted to take a moment to send my kudos to a young man who came knocking at my door a few nights ago. His name is Rob. Rob presented himself as a neat and tidy, well dressed young man. His passion and enthusiasm for his work and the work he represents were very apparent. There was nothing pushy or annoying about him... that has been my typical experience of someone soliciting at my door. Rob was pleasant, and was able to advocate on behalf of Plan Canada for those Plan represents. His compassion and ability to share appropriately his own life experience were important parts of him being able to ‘close the sale’ with me and my children. Rob was not only polite and articulate with me, but also when speaking with his colleague in Vancouver to confirm our support for a child in Haiti. He demonstrated joy and professionalism. He came across as an authentic, caring person. He was a wonderful example to my 3 children of what and informed, polite worker can be and can accomplish. As a marketing firm, I am quite certain you hear negative feedback often. I am fortunate to be able to share positive words with you. I wish Rob every good success as he continues to share his wisdom, enthusiasm and joy in whatever role life has in hold for him. As an employer, you have hired a gem. I appreciate this opportunity to express my kudos about your employee, Rob.

Sincerely,
Debbie

Kathy contacted the Feedback line to commend Matt on his excellent people skills. She found Matt to be very well dressed, in his suit and tie, even though it was extremely hot outside. Kathy also said that he was a pleasure to talk with and she wished him and Plan Canada the best of luck.

July 2007

Susan, a new sponsor, contacted the Feedback Line to express her appreciation for Adam enthusiasm and specialism and for his ability to engage and communicate the importance of sponsoring. She and her husband were very impressed with how dynamic, intelligent and articulate Adam was and really enjoyed the conversation they had with him.

March 2007

Dawn, a resident of High Park called Feedback to compliment the "two most polite gentlemen for door to door." Shawn and Nick really made a connection with her family. "They were really great representatives of Plan. Shawn and Nick were really great to talk to. They didn’t try to rush through the conversation and were really sympathetic, genuine, honest guys. This was the most pleasant door to door experience we could ever have."

Hello, this e-mail is being sent to forward my compliments on about Jennifer. I was visited by Jennifer in regards to sponsoring a child for the Foster Parents Plan. Although I am not in the position to currently do so, I found that Jennifer's easy-going and caring attitude made her the perfect candidate for making people want to engage in taking actions that will benefit the world. It is usually annoying to have someone knock on your door and ask for money, but this was not the case. Thanks to Jennifer I will definitely consider sponsoring a child when I get back on my feet again.

Thank you,
Mary

An experienced Employee knows that presenting the program in a manner that doesn't pressure the resident will lead to success. Joey was highly commended on the 'respectful, pleasant manner he presented' Foster Parents Plan. The gentleman who called in to the Feedback Line was very happy that Joey 'wasn't pushy, and did a great job!'

Keep up the great work Joey!

November 2004

A very emotional compliment was left for Gab on the Feedback Line by a woman moved by his presentation for Foster Parents Plan. The woman started by thanking Gab for the manner he approached her. Since she was reluctant to open the door, Gab took no offence but simply took a step back & held up his canvasser I.D. After Gab had finished introducing himself, she was impressed with how his 'passion for the program' really shone through while he explained all the details. She herself had sponsored a child for 18 years & watched his future blossom as he became a doctor. She is a firm believer in Foster Parents Plan and was most pleased & moved to see young people like Gab representing this organization. She commends Gab & wishes him the best in his future.

You certainly make a difference Gab.
