I never usually answer our door to people canvassing, but to-day did for some reason or other and was pleasantly surprised by Barry. He presented the information very clearly, and helped me to see the need for my donation. A very personable person who obviously is committed to Save the Children. We need more young people like him.

Hi there, yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting Melissa she canvassed my street. She was well dressed, professional, polite and extremely easy to speak to. She didn't ambush me or use high pressure tactics that you sometimes see canvassers use, she was kind, she listened and she was extremely knowledgeable. She could easily tell me about the program and she was passionate. She was actually one of the nicest and most professional canvassers I have ever met, and we get canvassed a lot! She is an asset to your team and it was a pleasure to meet and speak with you.
Best of luck in your fundraising efforts.

Hello there,
My name is Lorraine from Niagara Falls, Ont. Spencer just came to my door canvassing for Save The Children and I wanted to let you know that he is doing an AMAZING job! He is so heartfelt and knowledgeable that it's almost impossible not to want to help those children. As someone who has been working with children with HIV/AIDS for the last 5 years in NYC I know the importance of Save The Children and he made it very understandable and relevant. It makes me really happy to know that people like Spencer are representing those children. It was also 90 degrees outside and he's been walking around for 6+ hours. I could not believe how dedicated he was and how positive and upbeat he could still be after that long in this heat. Really outstanding.

Hello, I had a lovely young lady come to my door yesterday regarding Save the Children, her name is Manvi Ahlawat. She was so passionate and excited about helping these children; it was refreshing and a pleasure to have someone come to my door that genuinely cares about the cause they're working for. She was so personable and knew every detail about the program and the charity. If more people like her came to my door I'd be more than happy to speak with them. She is doing a great job representing Save the Children.
Please let her know that we appreciate her efforts.
Thank you,
Julia

Dear Sirs,
I am the Vice Chair of the Save the Children Canada Board and was canvassed at my house by 2 canvassers for Save – Joseph. They were very keen on Save and did a good job of providing information on the organization. They were well dressed and polite. It was a pleasure to deal with them.

Hi, Dave. You and I worked at the MS Society at the same time - I ran the Information Resource Centre in what I believe they now call client services. I visited the Save the Children website to make a one-time donation, after having a very pleasant exchange at the door with a young man canvassing on your behalf. I didn't sign up for a regular donation program, the point of his visit (we're already with Plan Canada), so he'll get no credit for being such a good ambassador. So after making my donation, I went looking for the right email address to which to send my compliments - in vain. And then I saw your name! So, please do me the favour of forwarding this email to the appropriate department, if you would. The fellow's name is Barry. He was polite, informative and very pleasant to deal with. Thanks.
Hope all is well!

Dear STC,
We recently signed on to be a Save the Children sponsor- and are very happy to be in support of this wonderful organization. I think one of the reasons we agreed to a monthly donation was because of the quality of information provided by Victor, the STC donation solicitor, who came to our door. Victor immediately put us at ease, answered our questions- and displayed a genuine interest in STC. He was very careful to ensure that the details of the transaction were clear and that the documentation was accurate. He also carried out a very respectful conversation with our active and curious 8 year old daughter- who wondered why we were speaking to 'the stranger' at the door. Together, with Victor- we described for her, that $20 per month is a valuable contribution to make for children and families in South America who are in need of basic supplies, food and clean water. She was quick to take the pamphlets that Victor left us, and read them cover to cover! We would be thrilled if you could pass along our thanks to Victor for making our interaction so meaningful and easy to enjoy. All the best in your fundraising efforts.
Sincerely,
The Lau family
To Whom It May Concern:
I had the pleasure of dealing with Victor today, as he came to my front door as a canvasser for Save the Children. I wanted to write to you today to express my appreciation to him and to Save the Children for choosing bright, eloquent and respectful young men to represent their foundation. Victor came to me today to ask for my support in the development of the new AVT clinics and continued efforts that Save the Children provides daily to children around the world. He was great at explaining the different programs that Save the Children was developing and even though I was uncomfortable with the online/ID donation process and declined to donate, he was respectful and grateful for my time. I just wanted to write a little note to say that I appreciated Victor’s informative presentation and gracious attitude. I am sorry that I was unable to donate this time, but was because of my economic situation, not his abilities or presentation.
Sincerley,
Sarah
Hello,
I am writing to comment on the work of Barry. Just before Christmas, Barry canvassed us on behalf of Save the Children. He was courteous and respectful when I explained how we make our charitable donations every year. (We do not respond to any form of solicitation.) Nevertheless, in a pleasant and direct manner, he made me aware of the work of the organization. Barry struck me as a very good ambassador for your organization.
My best,
E. JANE

To Whom it May Concern,
Jordan came to my door tonight, it is snowing and cold and despite being annoyed that I had to leave my warm desk, he was such a nice guy that I was impressed right away. Not only was he out canvassing despite the not-so-nice weather, his obvious passion for his topic was inspiring. He is a total charmer, a super nice guy, and simply because of him I am going to keep the information he gave me, and that will be my charity of choice following my convocation in 2011. He is a wonderful member of you team, and deserves many commendations.

Dear Sir/Madam, Very few organizations, to my knowledge, dedicate themselves to worthy causes ... like yours - to Save the Children. My wife and I can't help but notice the professionalism and dedication of Pam, one of your workers. Working for a worthwhile cause, explaining clearly your organization's purpose, knocking door to door ... up to about 8:30 in the evening is indeed impressive. More powers to you and your organization.
Sincerely,
Oliver.

One of your canvassers, Mark, knocked at my door this afternoon and what a pleasant surprise he was. Within seconds his friendly and engaging manner made me feel like I had known him for years. I was very impressed and wanted to let you know because all too often we hear about those that are not so capable.
Sincerely,
Barry
